After all the worry that the new 24 hour drinking law would result in round-the-clock fighting in the streets and a big increase in alcohol consumption in our capital, I was amazed to be searching for an establishment in Covent Garden that would still serve us alcohol shortly after midnight last night …

I’m heading out tonight to Harem Nights at Jongleurs in Camden to see my friend’s band GhettoPlotz playing “traditional Jewish Eastern European music with modern house beats”. Sounds intriguing … I haven’t yet decided whether to go in fancy dress!
